Located in beautiful Murrells Inlet, SC, Murrells Inlet #3006 is the local chapter of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA).

Sons and Daughters of Italy Murrells Inlet Lodge 3006 is a vibrant community that embraces Italian culture and heritage. The lodge is committed to giving back, demonstrated by its generous donations to Tunnels to Towers, a noble cause that supports first responders and military personnel.

The lodge not only engages in philanthropic efforts but also offers members the opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian culture through language classes, traditional Italian games and several events including festivals and Italian Pasta Nights. These activities foster a sense of community and provide a platform for members to deepen their appreciation for all things Italian.

Our Sons and Daughters of Italy Murrells Inlet Lodge 3006 keeps its members engaged and informed by hosting monthly meetings along with monthly dinners, allowing members to come together to share good food, camaraderie, and celebrate their shared heritage.

Sons and Daughters of Italy is a national organization representing an estimated 17 million Americans of Italian heritage. It is dedicated to promoting Italian culture, traditions, language, the legacy of ancestors, and contributions to the U.S. and the world.

The organization comprises sons and daughters, as well as grandmothers, grandfathers, corporate executives, union members, young students, retirees, teachers, attorneys, doctors, firefighters, bakers, Wall Street brokers, and everything in between. Members are philanthropists and model global citizens with purpose beyond themselves. They are proud and patriotic Americans of Italian heritage, exemplifying the very best of being Italian American. We exemplify the very best of what it is to be Italian American.

  • The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in AmericaĀ® (OSDIA) is the largest and oldest national organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States.
  • Founded in 1905 as a mutual aid society for the early Italian immigrants, today OSDIA has thousands of family members located in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, making it the leading service and advocacy organization for the nationā€™s estimated 26 million people of Italian descent.
  • Its missions include encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in American schools and universities; preserving Italian American traditions, culture, history and heritage; and promoting closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy.
  • Women have always shared equal rights with men in OSDIA, and women make up about 50% ofĀ OSDIA membership. Women have held leadership positions at all levels, including state president, national trustee, national vice president and national president.
  • OSDIA is for people of any gender, age, religion, race, creed, orientation and profession. You donā€™t even have to be Italian to join! Whether you are of Italian heritage or simply have a love for things Italian, OSDIA welcomes you as a member.
  • The Sons of Italy FoundationĀ® (SIF)is a private, philanthropic institution established by OSDIA in 1959. To date, the SIF has given more than $164 million to scholarships, medical research, cultural preservation, disaster relief, and other causes.
  • The Commission for Social JusticeĀ® (CSJ)is the anti-defamation arm of OSDIA. The CSJ is committed to fighting racism, prejudice, and the stereotyping of all races, religions and cultures, especially Italians and Italian Americans.
  • The SIF owns the Garibaldi-Meucci Museumin Staten Island, N.Y. The museum is housed in the historic home of inventor Antonio Meucci and chronicles his life as well as that of his one-time house guest, Italian unifier Giuseppe Garibaldi.
  • OSDIAā€™s national headquartersis in Washington, D.C., near Capitol Hill.
